Riding in Tokai
The Tokai area is the largest remaining area in the Constantia Valley where horses can be stabled and enjoy extensive outrides. Apart from many stable yards, there are several horse-riding organisations active in the equestrian community.

Join the Tokai District Riders Association
We strongly encourage all riders in the area and members of the arena to become members of the Tokai District Riders Association. This organisation represents equestrian interests in the Tokai area, working to ensure access for horse-riding and maintaining trails within SANParks and along City greenspaces. Become a member and support their work for just R300 a year. It’s also a great way to get to know the local riding community. Visit www.tdra.co.za
Find out about the Pony Club
The arena is home to the Tokai branch of the Pony Club, where young people learn and practice horsemanship.
Get your SANParks activity permit
If you access the arena from trails within SANParks land, or wish to explore the many kilometres of trails in this national park, you will need a Level 3 Activity Permit, which is R660 a year. Cash only is accepted.
